Frankfurt is renowned for being one of the largest and most influential financial centres in Europe home to the Bundesbank, the headquarters of the European Central Bank and the German Stock Exchange. Yet Frankfurt is not just a business city and European transportation hub, it also has a unique and thriving cultural and museum scene.
Villa Kennedy is located on Kennedyallee, enabling quick access to the commercial areas of Frankfurt. The residential part of the city (Sachsenhausen) with its bars and restaurants is also nearby, as are Frankfurt's many museums, including Museum of Applied Art, the German Film Museum, and the Kunsthalle Schirn art museum. The Schauspielhaus is Frankfurt's new opera building and is home to the world-renowned Frankfurt Ballet while the Alte Oper for hosts regular symphony concerts. Zeil, which runs through the centre of the city, lined with popular shops, department stores, bars and cafes while Goethestrasse to the west offers designer shopping.
As a centre for trade fairs, Frankfurt attracts up to 2.7 million visitors each year to its numerous trade fairs that include the annual book trade fair, music trade fair, and car show.
